Sneak Peek into the Life of an Artist: Travis Stratton by Heylos

Travis Stratton Sacramento based artist who’s work is influenced by color, music, graffiti, and the human face.

He believes that being an artist doesn’t have to do anything with age, as he started painting only when he was just 32 years, and now he doesn’t even miss a single day without painting.

Travis apart from helping and supporting local artists both on social media and offline communities ,he  also donates to charity , his recent and one of his favorite painting of Salvador Dali was donated to “Komen Race for the Cure,” fundraiser.

Art is very important for him and people as it takes out the everyday worries and connects people to culture’s past, present and future giving a whole meaning to life.

He says :
he really do not care for galleries or museums.  Most of the art you see in them  was not  intended  to bethere, so you lose the context in which the piece was created for. I guess that is one of  the reasons I am drawn to street art. You get to see it where it was meant to be.

Travis is one of those artists who is truly committed and passionate to his work of art, as he is one among those very few people in world who make a living out of art. He is currently working on new commissions of work, where one painting which is for a big time comic collector will have favorite comic book heroes, villains and cosplay characters.
some of his works can be found here:

His top three favorite artists are Wassily Kandinsky, Jackson Pollock, and Chuck Close.

Travis confidence quotes to other artists: Believe in yourself and it will show in your work and remember, “There's no retirement for an artist, it's your way of living so there's no end to it.” Henry Monroe

When he is not painting you can find him playing golf,  going to plays and enjoying time on the beach with his wife.
